Version History

Track every edit with automatic versioning, diffs, and one-click restore.

Every edit to an answer is automatically tracked. Velocibid saves a full version history so you can review past changes, compare differences, and restore previous versions with one click.

Automatic Versioning

Versions are created automatically whenever an answer is saved. You don't need to do anything — Velocibid snapshots the previous content before overwriting it.

What gets versioned?

  • Question answers: Every time you save changes to a draft answer, the previous version is preserved.
  • AI-generated answers: If AI overwrites a previous answer, the old one is saved first.
  • Library entries: When you edit a Smart Library Q&A pair, the previous version is stored.
  • Reverts: Even restoring a previous version creates a new snapshot, so you never lose data.

Viewing Version History

  1. Open any project and find the question you want to inspect.
  2. In the question card footer, click the History button (or the version badge like "v3").
  3. A modal opens showing all previous versions, ordered from newest to oldest.
  4. Each version shows: version number, who made the change, and when.

Comparing Versions (Diff View)

Visual Diff

Click Diff on any version to see a word-level comparison between that version and the current answer.

One-Click Restore

Click Restore on any previous version to revert the answer. The current answer is saved as a new version first, so nothing is ever lost.

Library Entry Versioning

Smart Library entries are also versioned. Every time you edit a Q&A pair in the library, the previous question and answer text is stored with a version number and timestamp. This is especially useful for maintaining an audit trail of how your company's knowledge base evolves.

Note: Locked answers (post-approval) cannot be edited without an admin unlocking them first. This ensures approved content stays untouched while still maintaining the version trail.
